The Cyberpunk 2077-themed jackets began popping up on websites, like eBay, while E3 was still going on, reaching prices as high as $450 and middling out in the $200-$300 range. It didn’t take long for this to catch the eye of CD Projekt Red Business Development Director Rafal Jaki, who urged fans not to spend such a ridiculous amount on the jacket, even if they really want to look like Keanu Reeves’ character. Jaki stated that the developer will be releasing a version of it to their own merch store for less than what some resellers are asking.
Jaki didn’t give a solid release date, or price, for the jacket but said that it should be available soon. While the jacket is, undeniably, a really cool collector’s item, it doesn’t make much sense to pay such an inflated cost for it, especially if it’ll be readily available in a short period of time. Anyone that won a bidding war for one may want to check and see if they can return it, as that money may be better spent on a Cyberpunk 2077 collector’s edition.
Fans eagerly awaiting Cyberpunk 2077 may want to pickup the jacket to reach the ultimate level of immersion, so long as CD Projekt stays to true their word and releases it for a reasonable price. CD Projekt will also be releasing another Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay demo in August, which will hopefully be enough to hold gamers over until the game releases early next year. There will definitely be a lot of competition for Cyberpunk 2077 when it releases, but the game seems like it will be a standout title, even with other major games releasing alongside it.
Cyberpunk 2077 will release on April 16th, 2020 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
