The Wii MotionPlus is bulky and expensive, a rough total for a Wii remote and a Wii MotionPlus is about $60. Well, from CES comes news that Nyko thinks the consumer deserves better than that, so they are going to be releasing the Nyko Wand+ for $40.
The Nyko Wand+ actually has the Wii MotionPlus built right in it, so right off the bat you save $20! Of course, Nyko realizes that Nintendo should have done the exact same thing they are doing now, so they took the opportunity to throw a few shots at Nintendo (and who isn’t these days?).
I have no freaking clue what a “dongle” is, but Nyko certainly gets their point across. This controller seems to be a perfect fit for Wii Sports Resort and of course the highly anticipated Zelda title coming out sometime this year.
Nyko’s Wand+ will also feature “Nyko’s Trans-Port Technology”, this allows the players to customize the action buttons, along with the vibration in the controller with the use of certain accessories. The feature isn’t drop-dead revolutionary, however, because it is implemented in Nyko’s current Wii remote.
The Nyko Wand+ launches sometime in March for $40.
Are you going to buy this? Do you think Nintendo should have done this to their controllers instead of attaching dongles for 1:1 motion control?
